Welcome to shapelib#

shapelib is GeoIA's geospatial library for working with agricultural field data, built as an extension of GeoPandas. It reads any common vector format β€” from local disk or straight from S3 β€” and hands you back a Lines, Polygons or Points object: a regular GeoDataFrame extended with geodesic measurements, raster conversion and the line tools we use to process planting rows.

Get started

πŸ“¦ Installation Install shapelib and its dependencies. πŸš€ Quickstart Read a file, run a few operations and save the result.

Learn the concepts

πŸ—‚οΈ Reading & saving One read_file for every format, local or in the cloud. πŸ“ˆ Lines Planting lines: lengths, filters, buffers, masks. β¬  Polygons Field boundaries: geodesic areas and perimeters. πŸ“ Points Point layers, neighbor distances and masks. 🎯 Datums & precision SAD69 and CΓ³rrego Alegre via IBGE grids; imprecise shifts refused.

Go further

🧰 Tools Group, deduplicate and merge planting lines, generate interlines, convert rasters to vectors and back. πŸ“– How-to guides Task-oriented recipes for common workflows. 🧩 API reference Full reference generated from the source code.
